10 Fall Wardrobe Essentials

Fall Closet Essentials

Here’s a list of ten fall closet essentials everyone should have! No matter what climate you live in, I feel like all ten items are necessary for a versatile wardrobe. The pieces below can be mixed and matched in so many different ways!

Chunky Sweater

An oversized knit in a basic color is a must have for fall. I suggest investing in one that you find super comfortable and won’t stretch out! This one is my favorite in my closet, it’s a rich navy blue color from Free People. I love that sweaters like this can be dressed up or down depending on where you’re going. I’ve worn this with boots and jeans to a family party, and also have gone more casual with it too with leggings and sneakers.

Flannel

You KNEW this was going to be on the list. Flannels are 1000% essential for fall. I typically wear an oversized flannel and throw it over a graphic tee or tank, but this cropped moment was fun to switch it up!

Flannel Link

Leather Jacket

This leather jacket is MY BABY. I thrifted this Harley gem the first time stores opened post covid, and it might be my favorite piece in my closet. I love the oversized feel of this but tend to opt for a more fitted one on a night out. If you’re ever going out and have no clue what to wear, a leather jacket and denim is always a killer option that will never go out of style.

Wide Leg Pants

This past year we’ve seen a huge lean into the “baggier” pant trend. If your closet is still full of skinny jeans, getting one pair of wide legged jeans is the move. They’re super comfortable! Also love how these are a tan/stone color. Maybe go for a neutral or brown for fall as opposed to plain denim.

Pants Link

Cardigan

A cardigan is a super versatile piece to have pretty much anytime of year! Here I styled it buttoned with jeans. You can always wear this open with a top or bralette underneath for a different look. Cardis have been super popular recently and there’s some super cute ultra cropped I’ve seen too that are a little more sexy if that’s your vibe.

Comfy Denim

I think the most important point I want to make in this post is to INVEST IN COMFORTABLE JEANS. If you own a pair of jeans that are high quality and truly comfortable, trust me you won’t be *just* a sweatpants girl. When it comes to jeans, don’t be afraid to splurge. If you do, chances are they won’t only be more comfortable, but they’ll last longer and hold their shape perfectly so they’re flattering for each wear.

Denim Link

Blazer

Depending on your job or major you may already have a few of these in your closet. If not, definitely get one! Blazers aren’t as stiff as they used to be. Yes, they come in handy for events you have to look professional for, but they can also be created into super cute and casual streetwear looks.

Blazer Link

Boots Made For Walking

DO ME A FAVOR. Get yourself at least one pair of boots that won’t kill your feet to walk in. Of course we want shoes to look cute, but if you can’t walk in them it’s pretty much guaranteed you’re not going to have a good time. I love these because they’re trendy and high but the rubber soles add a lot of support and act as more of a shock absorber for longer lasting comfort.

Boots Link

Denim Jacket

This is another staple I think you could use virtually year round. I loved this cropped dad trucker jacket from Levi’s this summer when it would get a little chilly at night. This is hands down my favorite jean jacket ever! It’s a little cropped and more of a boyfriend fit so it’s super flattering and I love the wash. I get compliments every time I wear!

Jacket Link
Sweat Set

Sweat Set

There’s something about a matching sweat set that automatically looks 10x more put together than regular sweats-but still keeps you comfy cozy. I wear this Nike jogger set CONSTANTLY and it’s literally the comfiest thing I own! This is great for traveling, work from home, or just chilling.

Thanks for reading my ten fall essentials list!! A lot of these you may already have in your closet. Remember you can make a million outfits when you have good basics!

Shop My Sephora Sale 2021 Favorites

The Sephora Sale is here! VIB Rouge has already started, VIB starts tomorrow 11/9, and Insiders start 11/11 with code “YAYHOLIDAY”. Anyone can sign up to be an Insider and as you get points from shopping you can achieve a higher status over time and be able to shop the sale earlier. You’re not far behind though, I’m still an Insider too! It’s definitely worth signing up though. You get discounts, birthday gifts, and can trade in points for quality products as well. Now time for my favorites!

(Click the bolded text for a direct link to shop!)

Face

It Cosmetics CC+ Cream with SPF 50+. This has been my GO TO coverage for years. It covers all the redness in my face without looking overpowering, and I’m a huge fan that it has a strong SPF. If you have an uneven skin tone this is a must try!

Too Faced Born This Way Super Coverage Multi-Use Concealer. This concealer comes with SO MUCH product and is very full-coverage so if you use it sparingly it will last you forever. Most days I just use this and contour because it keeps me looking natural but still gives the coverage I need!

Tarte SEA Breezy Cream Bronzer. This bronzer works as the perfect contour. I throw this on an angled brush and it defines my cheekbones so well and leaves me looking super tan and sunkissed.

Laura Mercier Translucent Loose Setting Powder. This might be my literal favorite makeup product on this list. If you have oily skin or tend to sweat, I can’t even begin to explain how much this will save your life. If you splurge on anything, make it this. You won’t regret it! Your makeup will last twice as long.

NARS Blush. The color “Orgasm X” shade is the most popular blush color I’ve ever heard of- it’s so beautiful and definitely what you should be picking up if you need a new blush or haven’t yet added it to your makeup routine.

Charlotte Tilbury Hollywood Flawless Filter. The best product to leave you with an absolute angel glow and godly complexion.

Lips

Charlotte Tilbury Mini Pillow Talk Lipstick & Liner Set. This is the only lipstick I’d ever recommend buying without trying the color beforehand. The Pillow Talk shades look beautiful on literally everyone, and the mini set comes with the liner and lipstick so you can get the full effect.

FENTY BEAUTY Gloss Bomb Universal Lip Luminizer. I have tried SO MANY lip glosses and I’m not exaggerating when I say none of them even come close to this one. This is hands down my favorite lip product of all time and everyone needs it! It makes your lips look gorgeous for hours, doesn’t taste weird, and leaves them feeling moisturized.

Dior Lip Glow Oil. This lip product is another fan favorite if you’re more into an oil than a gloss. It comes in a lot of beautiful shades and is another great option that leaves your lips moisturized.

Brows

Anastasia Beverly Hills Brow Wiz. This product is probably what I’ve found to be easiest to fill in my brows and the easiest to control. I would say it’s the quickest method to do your brows!

Anastasia Beverly Hills Brow Freeze Styling Wax. This is the best product to achieve the fluffy soap brow look while still making sure they’re locked in place all day.

Benefit Cosmetics Gimme Brow + Tinted Volumizing Eyebrow Gel. If you’re looking for a natural product to fill your brows a little bit and hold them in place, this product is the best of both worlds and probably the most low maintenance.

Eyes

Tarte Lights, Camera, Splashes Waterproof Mascara. This is my absolute favorite mascara. I feel like it gives me the most length and volume without looking clumpy and doesn’t start to fall after wearing it throughout the day.

Tarte Tartelette Toasted Eyeshadow Palette. These are my favorite eyeshadow palettes for day to day use. the neutral colors are super pretty without doing too much and look great no matter what you have on.

Stila Glitter & Glow Liquid Eye Shadow. This is my favorite element to add to a night out, Halloween costume, or just when you’re feeling a little funky. The sparkles are so beautiful and make a big statement.

Skincare

Biossance Squalane + Omega Repair Cream. This is no question the best anti-aging skincare product I’ve ever picked up at Sephora.

GLAMGLOW SUPERMUD Charcoal Instant Treatment Mask. The BEST mask to treat and prevent blackheads. I use this at least once a week and it makes a world of difference in my pores.

Estee Lauder Advanced Night Repair Synchronized Multi-Recovery Complex Serum. This may be pricey but it is the best serum I ever used and felt such a difference in my skin when waking up in the morning!

Body

Necessaire The Body Wash. My favorite body wash I’ve ever used. Super gentle and clean.

St. Tropez Self Tan Express Bronzing Mousse. One of the best and most natural self tanners on the market!

Fragrance

Yves Saint Laurent Black Opium Eau de Parfum. This is my favorite perfume at Sephora and the one I wear almost daily!

Hair

Living Proof Full Dry Volume Blast. The best spray volumizer I’ve found! Spray at the roots after you’ve styled your hair for an extra lift.

Olaplex No. 3 Hair Perfector. One of the most important products to keep my hair healthy and prevent damage.

Dyson Airwrap Styler. A big ticket item everyone has been obsessed with that would be super smart to use your discount on.

Thanks for reading through my favorites! Happy shopping (:

Nashville Weekend Travel Guide

A complete guide to Nashville including where to eat, where to stay, what to do, and what to wear!

All the buzz you hear about Nashville- let me tell you, it lives up to the hype. Whether you’re heading for a weekend getaway, Bachelorette Party, or spontaneous girls trip, Nashville is DEFINITELY the destination for you. I’ve traveled to almost 10 cities this year and Nashville comes in right at the top of my list. This honky tonk town truly has something for everyone… and somewhere to party all day and night long! My girls and I had a blast with the shopping, good eats, and unique nightlife. Here are some of the spots I highly suggest you hit!

Nightlife

BROADWAY. Broadway is the strip in Nashville that has bars on either side as far as you can see. Almost every bar has multiple floors with a live band on each! Nashville is a less populated city and although it was crowded, from a Philly girl these bars were incredibly spacious and almost all of them are complete with a rooftop. The vibe is mostly honky ton and dive bar but the most popular bars definitely give off a club vibe as well. Broadway is very touristy, but it is so much fun and a MUST to get the whole Nashville experience. If you’re looking for a more chill experience and to hangout with more locals I suggest checking out Music Row for nightlife. Music Row is still super fun just not quite as busy!

Jason Aldean’s Kitchen + Rooftop Bar

Starting off with our personal favorite spot of the trip and the one I was suggested the most beforehand! Jason Aldean’s was the first bar we went to, and where we ended every night of the weekend without fail. There’s three floors, music on each, and an awesome view from the rooftop. Pretty much an adult playground- it’s awesome.

Casa Rosa Miranda Lambert’s Tex Mex + Cantina

Miranda Lambert’s had it going on!! We didn’t end up getting there until later at night so we didn’t get to try the food, but we heard it was some of the best Mexican in town. One of the cutest bars on the strip I must say! All the pink vibes and aesthetic af.

Peddle Tavern

If there’s one thing you do on your trip from this post, PLEASE make it this. The Peddle Tavern was 100% my favorite part of the weekend and I will be doing it every time we go back to Nashville! There are time slots all day and night, just be sure to book a reservation beforehand because they fill up quick! How the Peddle Tavern works is all of the people along the outside peddle to give the bike power, and there’s a person in the middle who doubles as the driver and bartender. It’s a BYOB, so for the price of the ticket it’s a really great deal because you get to sightsee, drink for less, and have a GREAT time blasting music and peddling through Nash. They also give you a wristband that gives you great discounts at the bar you stop at halfway through the tour, and is good for discounts at a list of surrounding bars for as long as you keep it on for! You can choose the Music Row or Broadway tour- we ended up doing Music Row because there was a concert on Broadway but word on the street is that Broadway is the better option.

Where To Eat

Nashville is known for its food. Southern food is some of my favorite, (I love anything with bread or carbs lol), and the restaurants we went to did not disappoint. Before we went on our trip, we found it hard to book reservations in advance. Never fear though. Most of the restaurants in Nash have TONS of seating so even if there’s a wait, it shouldn’t take too long!

Brunch

Milk & Honey was a super popular brunch spot that was well worth the wait. Their biscuits are absolutely to die for! I got a breakfast sandwich on a biscuit with a side of fruit, and we also got mimosas with fresh squeezed juices for the table.

Bottomless Mimosas

City Tap Tavern not only had the most authentic southern food I had while I was in Nashville that REALLY helped my hangover, but they also had $16 dollar bottomless mimosas. I ordered “The Big Chick” which came complete with a whopping piece of fried chicken, sausage gravy, smoky bacon, buttermilk biscuit, fried eggs, and tater tot hash. My friends and I literally spent an entire day at this table hanging out. The weather wasn’t too great for our trip, but it honestly didn’t phase us considering there was so many fun indoor activities to do.. like mimosas hehe.

Instagrammable Lunch Spot

The Hampton Social was probably the most instagrammable spot we went to in Nash. I mean, every corner is picturesque. They’re famous for their “Rose All Day” neon sign on the lower level- yes, I KNOW you’ve seen it on your social media feed before. This is a great spot for a date or a girls night for drinks. Their menu is a little small but everything on it is top tier and the atmosphere is truly a 10/10. This is a must stop because it’s a great photo op for the crew and their frose (frozen rose) makes you feel uber chic.

Where To Shop

One thing I noticed in Nashville was how many cute locally owned boutiques there were. There’s tons of great shopping from trendy clothes to super authentic boot shops. I loved checking out both. There’s authentic country western stores all over the city and a ton on Broadway. We popped into a lot of them to check out the cowboy boots, but I have to say my favorite spot was Kittenish.

Kittenish

Kittenish was hands down one of the CUTEST stores I’ve ever stepped foot into. Not only are the clothes amazing quality for the price, but it’s almost a landmark of sorts for anyone that’s a fan of the Decker family. Jessie James Decker is killing it- and her store is too.

Winky Lux

Right down the street from Kittenish, Winky Lux is another cute shop we stumbled upon. It’s a vibrant little makeup spot with a super cute photo booth!

Photo Spots

One thing I loved most about Nashville was how many beautiful murals there were. There was a lot of fun, colorful, and beautiful art spread throughout the city and of course some that have made quite a name for themselves. Here are some of the famous photo spots we stopped at while in town!

Candy Hearts Mural

This mural is right on the side of a super cute boutique! It was a little bit of a walk, but we hit a vintage guitar store on the way and got to see some other fun stuff a little bit off the beaten path.

Get Your Tickets Mural

This downtown mural was only about two blocks from our hotel and was where I took my favorite photos of the trip. Located at 417 4th Avenue this mural is on actually right on the outside of the Musician’s Hall of Fame and Museum. The tickets on the wall range from shows that happened from 1965-2012!

What Lifts You Wings

Located in The Gulch, this beautiful wing mural by Kelsey Montague is definitely one of the most popular in the city. There is a line sometimes but usually only a few people and it moves pretty fast!

Rose All Day

The Hampton Social swing is definitely a photo spot you’ve seen pop up on your Instagram feed before. It’s in the lower level of the restaurant and makes for a super cute picture with your friends!

Where To Stay

DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel Nashville Downtown

This DoubleTree by Hilton was EXACTLY what we needed for this trip. It was two blocks from all the action downtown, had a Starbucks inside, and a nice outdoor seating area. I highly recommend spending a little more money up front on a hotel when traveling to be in the location you want to be as opposed to staying further and relying on Uber or Lyft. You’ll end up saving time and money while you’re there when you’re right in the heart of it all!

What To Wear

You guys know me. Dressing for Nashville was one of my favorite parts, and I think I really showed up with the country girl southern style. I think Nashville is a pretty casual and laid back atmosphere, so you can pretty much wear whatever you want. Denim is always a safe option and so is a casual dress around there!

  • Nashville Outfit Guide

Cow Print Pants

This was one of my favorite Nashville outfits! These pants were a hit and I got so many compliments on them. I would suggest sizing up one if you’re in between sizes! They’re a little bit snug but soooo cute.

Top // Pants // Shoes

  • Nashville Outfit Guide

Bubble Dress

This cute little dress was quite out of my comfort zone but was SO FUN to wear. Definitely eye catching and the color in person was gorgeous!

Dress // Shoes

Night Out Outfit

This corset has been so versatile in my closet and I’ve already gotten so much use out of it! The purse is a vintage gem from my moms closet. Sorry I couldn’t find a good link for you guys!

Flannel // Corset // Skirt // Phone Case

Southern Canadian Tuxedo

This was definitely the outfit I got the most compliments on in Nashville and my personal favorite!

Hat // Jacket // Tank // Belt // Shorts // Boots

Polka Dot Moment

This green maxi was perfect for brunch at Hampton Social!

Hat // Dress // Shoes

Floral Tank With Flares

This little floral top with flares was the perfect brunch outfit for City Tap Tavern! This top is actually part of a two piece set that was soooo adorable. The skirt was just a tad too short for me so I opted for this and loved it!

Tank // Pants

Blue Short Set

This blue short set was an ideal outfit to wear during the day to walk around Nashville and shop! I felt super comfortable in it and threw a jacket over top when I got a little chilly.

Hat // Jacket // Top // Shorts // Shoes

Tried And True

This is my most basic outfit but it is my GO TO. You can never go wrong with denim and a faux leather jacket and it’s so simple yet classic and easy to throw on without putting much thought into your outfit.

Jacket // Denim

3 Steps to Finding Your Personal Style

“Your style introduces you before you even speak”

Identifying your personal style can be…. tricky. We’re constantly fed new trends from social media, celebrities, and brands about what’s “in” and what’s “out” on the fashion front. Are we wearing those outfits because that’s what’s in style and we’re used to scrolling past it on Instagram, or do we truly like the clothes? Well, I’m here to help.

Over the past year, I’ve worn close to IT ALL. The best part about style is it’s the one quality about yourself you can change WHENEVER the hell you feel like it. At least that’s what I do. Some days I love a girly skirt, some days I feel like a rockstar in heels, and I am a big believer that you can never go wrong with an oversized graphic t-shirt. I even recently had a major biker girl moment. (Pics are up on the gram). Although I don’t think that’s my forever look, I felt badass in it and it was fun. Fashion should be FUN.

Here’s the catch. You can’t rule out any style until you try it. My golden rule when it comes to fashion is you can pull off ANYTHING if you believe you can. Confidence always looks good, even if looking back in a few years that particular outfit seriously missed the mark. Even if the clothes themselves are iffy, the confidence you wear with it will complete the look. When you rock it with confidence, it’s a winner. Every time. Don’t put yourself in a box. Your mood changes, the seasons change, and your style is allowed to change too.

1. What makes you feel most confident?

This is where the thinking caps come in. What do you put on that makes you feel the most “you”? Forget about social media. Forget about what Kylie Jenner’s been wearing. What do you have on when you look in the mirror and think “damn I look good in this?”. If you couldn’t think of anything, you’re being way too hard on yourself and you should start telling yourself you look good more often. I know you do. If you had an article of clothing in mind, you’re already on the right track.

For me, the answer is graphic tees. I LOVE a good graphic tee. There’s endless possibilities in the craft of styling them. They bring out my silly tomboy energy. Now, this doesn’t mean I don’t like to get dolled up once in a while. I just feel the most “me” in a graphic tee. I feel comfortable. I feel confident. I feel like I have some wiggle room to dance. Style is all about wearing what makes you feel good. Forget about trends. Think about what you feel like the most genuine you in, and have fun from there.

2. Scroll on Pinterest

If you don’t feel confident in your style, Pinterest is quite literally your new best friend. I find inspiration on there constantly. This app is exploding with inspo. From recipes to styling, Pinterest is the holy grail of most fashion bloggers.

Do some digging and see what catches your eye! Create an outfit board, spend some time saving pins, then go back and see if you recognize a pattern of outfits you’ve saved. That’s most likely what you’re into. There’s a new trend going around called “Recreating Pinterest Outfits” and there’s a good reason why. Style inspo is all over this app, and it has been for years. It’s such a good resource for all things fashion. Whoever your favorite follow is on Insta for outfit inspo, I would bet my bank account she’s using Pinterest.

What did you like to wear as a kid?

It’s almost scary how many things from childhood can carry over into adulthood. Think about what you LOVED as a kid. What did you gravitate towards? Do you still like them now? A lot of times our childhood interests stick with us. More times than not, your childhood can influence your personality, tendencies, and in this case even your fashion sense.

When I was younger, I was quite literally obsessed with t-shirts. During my soccer tournaments, I didn’t care win or lose as long as I went home with a tournament t-shirt. They were my pride and joy. I have had literally hundreds throughout the years. Now that I’m older, t-shirts are still my favorite things to wear and style. So take a second and think, what did you used to love wearing?

Vision Board

2021 Vision Board and Goals

Vision Boards

Vision boards are KEY. They’re fun as hell to make. And the best part? They don’t have to make sense to ANYONE but you. Pictured above is the one I made for this year. Not too bad if I do say so myself. I found all those pictures on Pinterest and slapped them together on Canva. I tend to keep an ongoing inspiration board throughout the year. When it’s time to make another board, I flip through to see what kind of theme I can get going. Obviously this time around I went for a more classic and warm picturesque. I put anything that drew my eye, had a quote that struck me, or I felt a connection to. Not EVERYTHING on there has to be directly “relevant” per say, but making a board of goals, reminders, and pictures you like in one image can really help you nail down what you’re going for.

I took a section of this one and made it my phone background, so that way I get a small daily dose to stay on track. Even if it’s subconscious, it’s constantly in your field of view.  I did the same thing with my vision board last year and felt it was really effective. If the lock screen idea isn’t your thing, stick it somewhere you’ll see it everyday. Maybe above your desk or the bathroom mirror.

For example, let’s dig into mine a little bit. I have books on that bottom row because I want to read more this year. The Walt Disney logo above that is because I’m a nerd for Disney and have a lot of great memories from being there as a kid. The quote to the left is because I think too much and want to do a better job at being confident in myself. And the legs on the car to the right? Well.. Just thought they were cool.

See what I mean? It’s one of those things that you can do WHATEVER you want with. So have fun with it, and let those creative juices flow. I’ll put a picture of my one from last year as well for more inspo. Love them both, just different vibes.

2021 Goals

So here we are. 2021. Some call it March 370th, but I call it a new chapter. I’m not a huge fan of the whole resolution thing. “Resolution” to me feels negative, like you’re depriving yourself of something. As if you NEED to abruptly break that habit of eating ice cream every night OR ELSE. I tend to think when people set a resolution in the beginning of the year to completely change a pattern, it’s a lot easier to give up and feel like you failed. No one wants that. As we all know old habits DIE HARD. So let’s chalk “new year, new me” and let’s talk “new year, BETTER me”.

That’s why I like to refer to “goals” as opposed to “resolutions”. I’m more motivated to work towards something with a goal mindset. Setting a goal is like intentionally working towards bettering yourself, so many just ice cream on the weekends, or whatever it may be. We’re all only human, and we’re on this upwards climb constantly trying to be better or do more. It’s okay if you slip up as long as you keep climbing.

This year, I set two goals. The first is to be more prompt. God if you know me, you know I need this one. I envy people who are timely. I genuinely need someone to punch me in the face with time management. I know this isn’t something that will happen overnight for me, but that’s why it’s a goal.

The next one, some of you will think is insanity. There were days I thought so as well. But once I explain, it won’t sound as crazy. My second goal is to be active every day. I originally put to workout every day, but being “active” has a different meaning to me than a full-fledged workout. I want to see how it affects my body to be active everyday in a smaller capacity as opposed to stretching my off days and then hitting the gym vigorously to make up for it. I also realized in quarantine I NEED a routine to keep my ass in check. Once I get in the routine of working out every day it doesn’t seem like much. But when I take a few days off and try to get back into it, for some reason it’s excruciating. So, whether it be a long walk, 100 squats, or an hour circuit, your girl is going to *try her best* to be active every day.

Hair Trends to Try in 2021

Let’s be honest; we’ve all been in quarantine wayyy too long and it’s time to start changing up our hairdos. Do some experimenting and see what you like! Let’s be clear, I did NOT invent any of these hairstyles. In fact, I haven’t touched a few of these since I was five, or like ever, for that matter. But in the year where it seems almost every hair trend is in, let’s have some fun. And I mean EVERY hair trend. Like… My boyfriend has a mullet.

Beach Waves

Ol’ Reliable. My $23.99 wave iron was one of my favorite purchases of the past year. Crazy, fun, and undeniably s*xy hair is a solid choice if you’re looking for a change. You seriously cannot go wrong with this one. It’s subtle yet head-turning and lasts three whole days. The volume it gives is the look I’ve been trying to find in different hairsprays and mousses for years! Not going to lie, I had to work a little on this one though. It definitely was not a “one and done” trial kind of deal. It took me a few times to get it right, but let me tell you.. It’s worth the hype. Once you master the skill, you’re golden. My curler better make some room on my vanity because this is my new go- to style tool.

Claw Clip

The bigger the better babes. Let me just tell you I loved this extra large claw clip so much that I went back and bought ten. Yes, literally ten. Could it get any easier? Besides being bulkier than a hair tie, these are the PERFECT hair accessory. It helps prevent breakage by gathering your hair loosely as opposed to a tight ponytail. An instant messy updo to elevate any look. I clip one of these to the shoulder strap of my purse every time I leave the house. They’ve quickly become one of my staple accessories.

Slick Bun

Calling all Hailey Bieber fans! Let me tell you about this little trick I keep in my back pocket for when my hair NEEDS a good wash but I want to hold off just ONE more day. The perfect fix for last minute plans, or when I just want to look put together when I truly feel like a greaseball. HAIR GEL. Get some hair gel right now. It’s one of the most affordable hair products you can pick up at any store. Not to mention, no heat damage! A win-win.

Bandana

Add a little bit of… *spice*. Bandanas are another great way to start experimenting with hair without getting too daring. I’ve seen these all over Pinterest recently. They’re vintage. They’re CHEAP. And they’re trendy. They’ve been around the block once or twice. If you want to be traditional, pick up a paisley basic at Walmart. They sell every color in-store for $1.50 tops. If you want to be trendy, silk is super in right now. Either way, they’re the perfect accessory to complete a casual look with denim and a tee.

Pigtails

I find this one hilarious. Just because I KNOW half you girls are cringing, and the other half are absolutely loving it. I don’t have to go too in depth here, you can’t lie to me. I know you’ve had pigtails before. MAYBE ten years ago or more, but it happened. What can I say? They can be flirty and cute, that’s a fact. I think it’s the art of how you style them. For me, I like them relaxed and pulled back like this with front pieces.

Bubble Pony

Another throwback. The bubble pony. I don’t think this one will be in my regular rotation, however it is another saving grace when you’re in a pinch. Any hairstyle that can save you some time is right up my alley. I also felt like this was super chic pulled at the crown of the head. To my girls with layers, this might get a little tricky, but definitely doable with a few tweaks here and there.

Baby Front Braids

COME ON. They’re so cute. Another hairstyle that isn’t too scaled up from your regular look, but gives you a little extra pep in your step. My braids were so tiny I didn’t need any sort of hair tie. If you want to make sure they’re secure, I’d recommend using little clear polybands. I think this looks the best styled with straight hair, but as always, whatever you’re feeling.

New apartment check ✔️😍🌴✈️ The firs New apartment check ✔️😍🌴✈️

The first full month of living on the other side of the country has taught me a lot and in a lot of ways was exactly what I was looking for. Even in college living on campus I was only 25 mins away from my childhood home, so I felt like I needed something uncomfortable and out of my element to see how I’d do TRULY on my own. We’ve got a long way to go, but so far, it’s been one of the best decisions I’ve ever made 🙃
