A complete guide to Nashville including where to eat, where to stay, what to do, and what to wear!
All the buzz you hear about Nashville- let me tell you, it lives up to the hype. Whether you’re heading for a weekend getaway, Bachelorette Party, or spontaneous girls trip, Nashville is DEFINITELY the destination for you. I’ve traveled to almost 10 cities this year and Nashville comes in right at the top of my list. This honky tonk town truly has something for everyone… and somewhere to party all day and night long! My girls and I had a blast with the shopping, good eats, and unique nightlife. Here are some of the spots I highly suggest you hit!
Nightlife
BROADWAY. Broadway is the strip in Nashville that has bars on either side as far as you can see. Almost every bar has multiple floors with a live band on each! Nashville is a less populated city and although it was crowded, from a Philly girl these bars were incredibly spacious and almost all of them are complete with a rooftop. The vibe is mostly honky ton and dive bar but the most popular bars definitely give off a club vibe as well. Broadway is very touristy, but it is so much fun and a MUST to get the whole Nashville experience. If you’re looking for a more chill experience and to hangout with more locals I suggest checking out Music Row for nightlife. Music Row is still super fun just not quite as busy!
Jason Aldean’s Kitchen + Rooftop Bar
Starting off with our personal favorite spot of the trip and the one I was suggested the most beforehand! Jason Aldean’s was the first bar we went to, and where we ended every night of the weekend without fail. There’s three floors, music on each, and an awesome view from the rooftop. Pretty much an adult playground- it’s awesome.
Miranda Lambert’s had it going on!! We didn’t end up getting there until later at night so we didn’t get to try the food, but we heard it was some of the best Mexican in town. One of the cutest bars on the strip I must say! All the pink vibes and aesthetic af.
Peddle Tavern
If there’s one thing you do on your trip from this post, PLEASE make it this. The Peddle Tavern was 100% my favorite part of the weekend and I will be doing it every time we go back to Nashville! There are time slots all day and night, just be sure to book a reservation beforehand because they fill up quick! How the Peddle Tavern works is all of the people along the outside peddle to give the bike power, and there’s a person in the middle who doubles as the driver and bartender. It’s a BYOB, so for the price of the ticket it’s a really great deal because you get to sightsee, drink for less, and have a GREAT time blasting music and peddling through Nash. They also give you a wristband that gives you great discounts at the bar you stop at halfway through the tour, and is good for discounts at a list of surrounding bars for as long as you keep it on for! You can choose the Music Row or Broadway tour- we ended up doing Music Row because there was a concert on Broadway but word on the street is that Broadway is the better option.
Where To Eat
Nashville is known for its food. Southern food is some of my favorite, (I love anything with bread or carbs lol), and the restaurants we went to did not disappoint. Before we went on our trip, we found it hard to book reservations in advance. Never fear though. Most of the restaurants in Nash have TONS of seating so even if there’s a wait, it shouldn’t take too long!
Brunch
Milk & Honey was a super popular brunch spot that was well worth the wait. Their biscuits are absolutely to die for! I got a breakfast sandwich on a biscuit with a side of fruit, and we also got mimosas with fresh squeezed juices for the table.
Bottomless Mimosas
City Tap Tavern not only had the most authentic southern food I had while I was in Nashville that REALLY helped my hangover, but they also had $16 dollar bottomless mimosas. I ordered “The Big Chick” which came complete with a whopping piece of fried chicken, sausage gravy, smoky bacon, buttermilk biscuit, fried eggs, and tater tot hash. My friends and I literally spent an entire day at this table hanging out. The weather wasn’t too great for our trip, but it honestly didn’t phase us considering there was so many fun indoor activities to do.. like mimosas hehe.
Instagrammable Lunch Spot
The Hampton Social was probably the most instagrammable spot we went to in Nash. I mean, every corner is picturesque. They’re famous for their “Rose All Day” neon sign on the lower level- yes, I KNOW you’ve seen it on your social media feed before. This is a great spot for a date or a girls night for drinks. Their menu is a little small but everything on it is top tier and the atmosphere is truly a 10/10. This is a must stop because it’s a great photo op for the crew and their frose (frozen rose) makes you feel uber chic.
Where To Shop
One thing I noticed in Nashville was how many cute locally owned boutiques there were. There’s tons of great shopping from trendy clothes to super authentic boot shops. I loved checking out both. There’s authentic country western stores all over the city and a ton on Broadway. We popped into a lot of them to check out the cowboy boots, but I have to say my favorite spot was Kittenish.
Kittenish
Kittenish was hands down one of the CUTEST stores I’ve ever stepped foot into. Not only are the clothes amazing quality for the price, but it’s almost a landmark of sorts for anyone that’s a fan of the Decker family. Jessie James Decker is killing it- and her store is too.
Winky Lux
Right down the street from Kittenish, Winky Lux is another cute shop we stumbled upon. It’s a vibrant little makeup spot with a super cute photo booth!
Photo Spots
One thing I loved most about Nashville was how many beautiful murals there were. There was a lot of fun, colorful, and beautiful art spread throughout the city and of course some that have made quite a name for themselves. Here are some of the famous photo spots we stopped at while in town!
Candy Hearts Mural
This mural is right on the side of a super cute boutique! It was a little bit of a walk, but we hit a vintage guitar store on the way and got to see some other fun stuff a little bit off the beaten path.
Get Your Tickets Mural
This downtown mural was only about two blocks from our hotel and was where I took my favorite photos of the trip. Located at 417 4th Avenue this mural is on actually right on the outside of the Musician’s Hall of Fame and Museum. The tickets on the wall range from shows that happened from 1965-2012!
What Lifts You Wings
Located in The Gulch, this beautiful wing mural by Kelsey Montague is definitely one of the most popular in the city. There is a line sometimes but usually only a few people and it moves pretty fast!
Rose All Day
The Hampton Social swing is definitely a photo spot you’ve seen pop up on your Instagram feed before. It’s in the lower level of the restaurant and makes for a super cute picture with your friends!
Where To Stay
DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel Nashville Downtown
This DoubleTree by Hilton was EXACTLY what we needed for this trip. It was two blocks from all the action downtown, had a Starbucks inside, and a nice outdoor seating area. I highly recommend spending a little more money up front on a hotel when traveling to be in the location you want to be as opposed to staying further and relying on Uber or Lyft. You’ll end up saving time and money while you’re there when you’re right in the heart of it all!
What To Wear
You guys know me. Dressing for Nashville was one of my favorite parts, and I think I really showed up with the country girl southern style. I think Nashville is a pretty casual and laid back atmosphere, so you can pretty much wear whatever you want. Denim is always a safe option and so is a casual dress around there!
Cow Print Pants
This was one of my favorite Nashville outfits! These pants were a hit and I got so many compliments on them. I would suggest sizing up one if you’re in between sizes! They’re a little bit snug but soooo cute.
Top // Pants // Shoes
Bubble Dress
This cute little dress was quite out of my comfort zone but was SO FUN to wear. Definitely eye catching and the color in person was gorgeous!
Dress // Shoes
Night Out Outfit
This corset has been so versatile in my closet and I’ve already gotten so much use out of it! The purse is a vintage gem from my moms closet. Sorry I couldn’t find a good link for you guys!
Flannel // Corset // Skirt // Phone Case
Southern Canadian Tuxedo
This was definitely the outfit I got the most compliments on in Nashville and my personal favorite!
Hat // Jacket // Tank // Belt // Shorts // Boots
Floral Tank With Flares
This little floral top with flares was the perfect brunch outfit for City Tap Tavern! This top is actually part of a two piece set that was soooo adorable. The skirt was just a tad too short for me so I opted for this and loved it!
Tank // Pants
Blue Short Set
This blue short set was an ideal outfit to wear during the day to walk around Nashville and shop! I felt super comfortable in it and threw a jacket over top when I got a little chilly.
Hat // Jacket // Top // Shorts // Shoes
Tried And True
This is my most basic outfit but it is my GO TO. You can never go wrong with denim and a faux leather jacket and it’s so simple yet classic and easy to throw on without putting much thought into your outfit.
Jacket // Denim
