Vision Boards
Vision boards are KEY. They’re fun as hell to make. And the best part? They don’t have to make sense to ANYONE but you. Pictured above is the one I made for this year. Not too bad if I do say so myself. I found all those pictures on Pinterest and slapped them together on Canva. I tend to keep an ongoing inspiration board throughout the year. When it’s time to make another board, I flip through to see what kind of theme I can get going. Obviously this time around I went for a more classic and warm picturesque. I put anything that drew my eye, had a quote that struck me, or I felt a connection to. Not EVERYTHING on there has to be directly “relevant” per say, but making a board of goals, reminders, and pictures you like in one image can really help you nail down what you’re going for.
I took a section of this one and made it my phone background, so that way I get a small daily dose to stay on track. Even if it’s subconscious, it’s constantly in your field of view. I did the same thing with my vision board last year and felt it was really effective. If the lock screen idea isn’t your thing, stick it somewhere you’ll see it everyday. Maybe above your desk or the bathroom mirror.
For example, let’s dig into mine a little bit. I have books on that bottom row because I want to read more this year. The Walt Disney logo above that is because I’m a nerd for Disney and have a lot of great memories from being there as a kid. The quote to the left is because I think too much and want to do a better job at being confident in myself. And the legs on the car to the right? Well.. Just thought they were cool.
See what I mean? It’s one of those things that you can do WHATEVER you want with. So have fun with it, and let those creative juices flow. I’ll put a picture of my one from last year as well for more inspo. Love them both, just different vibes.
2021 Goals
So here we are. 2021. Some call it March 370th, but I call it a new chapter. I’m not a huge fan of the whole resolution thing. “Resolution” to me feels negative, like you’re depriving yourself of something. As if you NEED to abruptly break that habit of eating ice cream every night OR ELSE. I tend to think when people set a resolution in the beginning of the year to completely change a pattern, it’s a lot easier to give up and feel like you failed. No one wants that. As we all know old habits DIE HARD. So let’s chalk “new year, new me” and let’s talk “new year, BETTER me”.
That’s why I like to refer to “goals” as opposed to “resolutions”. I’m more motivated to work towards something with a goal mindset. Setting a goal is like intentionally working towards bettering yourself, so many just ice cream on the weekends, or whatever it may be. We’re all only human, and we’re on this upwards climb constantly trying to be better or do more. It’s okay if you slip up as long as you keep climbing.
This year, I set two goals. The first is to be more prompt. God if you know me, you know I need this one. I envy people who are timely. I genuinely need someone to punch me in the face with time management. I know this isn’t something that will happen overnight for me, but that’s why it’s a goal.
The next one, some of you will think is insanity. There were days I thought so as well. But once I explain, it won’t sound as crazy. My second goal is to be active every day. I originally put to workout every day, but being “active” has a different meaning to me than a full-fledged workout. I want to see how it affects my body to be active everyday in a smaller capacity as opposed to stretching my off days and then hitting the gym vigorously to make up for it. I also realized in quarantine I NEED a routine to keep my ass in check. Once I get in the routine of working out every day it doesn’t seem like much. But when I take a few days off and try to get back into it, for some reason it’s excruciating. So, whether it be a long walk, 100 squats, or an hour circuit, your girl is going to *try her best* to be active every day.

Thanks so much! I actually just used Canva for this! I would send some to front, some to back, move them around, and also use the website “Remove.BG” to take the background out of some of the images! I found them all on Pinterest (:
